St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dalby, Queensland, Australia was semi-founded in 2018 when vicar Jake Zabel was excommunicated from the Australian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
On December 3rd 2018 Jake was examined for the ministry and approved.
In May 2019 Rev. Magnus Sørensen of the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Århus, Denmark flew to Australia to ordain Jake.
On May 19th 2019 Rev. Sørensen lead the official inauguration service for St. John’s.
On May 22nd 2019 Rev. Jake Zabel was ordained as the pastor of the St. John’s congregation.
On September 23rd 2019 St. John’s became a founding member of the Confessional Orthodox Evangelical Lutheran Communion.
