Rev. Magnus Sørensen is the pastor of the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Århus, Denmark.
Magnus was baptized shortly before his confirmation in the Lutheran State Church in Denmark. He studied theology at the University of Århus from 1999 to 2006 where he earned his bachelor and masters degree in theology.
Magnus left the State Church as a student of theology after it subscribed to the Leuenberg Concord in 2001. He joined the Evangelical-Lutheran Freechurch in Denmark. In 2003-2004, Magnus took a year of studies on Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne.
In 2007 Magnus left the Evangelical-Lutheran Freechurch for doctrinal reasons and formed Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Århus with other former members of the Evangelical-Lutheran Freechurch.
Rev. Sørensen was ordained in 2007 as pastor of Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Århus, Denmark.
In September 2019 Rev. Sørensen was a founding member of the Confessional Orthodox Evangelical Lutheran Communion.
On January 25th 2020 Rev. Sørensen was officially appointed as the Superattendant of the COELC.
